Perineal Numbness otherwise known as "Numb-nuts". I found out last night that there have been studies into the effects of long-distance riding on bike seats for males. The biggest effect is erectile-dysfunction, not fun. There are a few bike-saddle makers that have some products out there that lessen the effect of numbness.
Specialized has a line of products called "Body Geometery" which helps apparently, but these saddles range from $80+ or so. (http://www.specialized.com/bodygeometry)
Serfas has a line called, "RX Saddles". They range from $70+. (http://www.serfas.com/rx_saddles/index_rx.shtml)
Not sure which does better job. I will purchase a Serfas one after I get off my lazy ass and make some money. heh.
